Why I Spent 150K on Coaches Who Couldn’t Help Me and What I Built Instead

In this episode, Trish closes out the nine-episode series with the most personal episode yet – and she is not going out quietly.

If you’ve ever spent money on a coach who gave you a strategy that just wouldn’t work no matter how hard you tried, this episode is going to make you feel so deeply seen. And if you’ve been listening to this entire series, taking notes, nodding along, and still haven’t taken the next step – Trish is talking directly to you.

Trish gets raw about spending over $150,000 on coaches and mentors who couldn’t actually help her – not because they were bad coaches, but because none of them had ever sold to a mom scrolling Instagram while hiding in the bathroom on a Tuesday afternoon. She shares why she built the room she built, introduces you to Crystal – a Canadian physical therapist who came in with no followers, no strategy, and no direction and is now absolutely thriving – and makes one very real, very direct invitation to the woman who’s been waiting to feel ready.

Spoiler: ready is not coming. The investment creates the momentum. The momentum creates the results.

💡 What You’ll Learn Inside This Episode

  • Why $150,000 in coaching didn’t work – and the real reason the map was wrong
  • Why the strategies your business coach taught you keep failing your mom audience
  • What makes the room Trish built different from every other mastermind out there
  • Crystal’s story – and what actually happens when expertise finally meets the right strategy
  • The mindset block that’s keeping you stuck even after everything you now know

🔥 Mic-Drop Moments

“I was using a map of New York to get to LA and wondering why it wasn’t working.”

“I would be the coach I never had.”

“Sharing what I know does not make my slice of the pie smaller. It makes the whole table bigger.”

“The women who are winning right now are not winning because they waited until they felt ready. They’re winning because they invested in the right room before they felt ready.”

🧘🏽‍♀️ Quick Reflections to Close Out the Series

  1. Which of the nine episodes hit me the hardest – and what have I done with that insight?
  2. Am I waiting to feel ready, or am I willing to let the investment create the momentum?
  3. What would my business look like six months from now if I finally stopped figuring this out alone?

💬 Ready to Stop Figuring This Out Alone?

This is Trish’s invitation – not a pitch, not pressure. Just an open hand to the woman who knows she needs the room.

If you are ready to be in a space with women who are building the same kind of business you’re building, led by a coach who has actually done it, go apply right now before the podcast app closes and the momentum fades.

Trish:

Nine episodes ago, I asked you to stay with me.

Trish:

I told you by the end of this series, you would never look at your content, your offer, or your buyer the same way again.

Trish:

So I wanna ask you, was I right?

Trish:

Do you understand now why your buyer is different from every buyer your business coach has ever taught you about?

Trish:

Do you understand what know, like, trust really means for someone selling to moms?

Trish:

Do you know how to claim your expertise without apologizing for it?

Trish:

Do you know what it truly means to decide?

Trish:

Do you understand why simplicity scales and complex fails?

Trish:

Do you know the difference between content that performs and content that sells?

Trish:

Do you know why she's not ignoring you?

Trish:

She's just not ready.

Trish:

Do you know what a micro-experience is and why it's the fastest trust-building tool in your entire business?

Trish:

You know all of that now, and knowing it is not the problem.

Trish:

The problem is what comes next, and that's exactly what this episode is all about.

Trish:

Welcome to the final episode of this nine-episode series.

Trish:

I'm Trish, Trish Ware, former labor and delivery nurse, mama of seven, homeschooling mom, and the founder of two seven-figure businesses, one of which was selling directly to moms and parents.

Trish:

So this is the ninth in this series, the finale, and I am not going out quietly.

Trish:

Today, I'm gonna tell you why I started coaching in the first place, and I'm going to introduce you to someone whose life changed because she said yes when it was scary, and I am going to make you a very specific, very direct invitation.

Trish:

So let's go.

Trish:

I want to tell you why I built the room I built.

Trish:

I spent over $150,000 on coaches and mentors trying to figure out how to scale my business, $150,000 plus, and almost none of it worked the way it was supposed to.

Trish:

Not because these coaches were bad people, not because they didn't know, you know, what they were talking about.

Trish:

Some of them didn't.

Trish:

But because every single one of them had built their business by selling to other business owners, to entrepreneurs, to people who were already in buying mode, already thinking about ROI, and already looking for a solution.

Trish:

None of them have ever sold to a mama who was scrolling Instagram while she was pooping to escape her Tuesday afternoon.

Trish:

None of them understood the psychology, the timing, the language, the trust building that's required when your buyer is a real person living a real life, not another coach looking for their next investment.

Trish:

And I was getting really frustrated.

Trish:

I kept trying to apply their strategies to my mom audience, and it kept not working the way they said it would, and they kind of shamed me, thinking that, like, I wasn't doing what they were saying or, I don't know.

Trish:

I kept thinking something was wrong with me.

Trish:

Nothing was wrong with me.

Trish:

The map was wrong.

Trish:

I was using a map of New York to get into LA and wondering why it wasn't working.

Trish:So I started my coaching in:Trish:

I would only teach strategies that actually worked for women selling to moms and parents and real consumers.

Trish:

I would be in the room with them, not just attached to the program.

Trish:

I would tell the truth about how hard this is instead of making, like, false promises about overnight results.

Trish:

I would not hold back.

Trish:

I would not compete.

Trish:

I would not gatekeep.

Trish:

I believe in abundance.

Trish:

I believe there's enough room for every single woman in this space to build something extraordinary, 'cause you are the magic.

Trish:

You are.

Trish:

The top accounts in the birth space and the parenting space, some of them I coach, because I do not believe sharing what I know makes my slice of the pie smaller.

Trish:

I believe it makes the whole table bigger, and we are all here to impact the birth culture.

Trish:

So why would I not want to help other women impact the birth culture?

Trish:

So I built a room that reflects that, a room full of women who are experts, who are creating real impact, doctors, nurses, therapists real women, moms who went through an experience that changed them, and now they wanna impact other moms.

Trish:

Women who are changing the world for moms and families.

Trish:

Women who came in not knowing what they were doing, and now are doing it fully, confidently, and profitably.

Trish:

I wanna tell you about one of them.

Trish:

Her name is Crystal.

Trish:

Crystal is from Canada.

Trish:

She is a physical therapist, and she came to me.

Trish:

She had hardly any followers.

Trish:

She was floundering.

Trish:

She did not know how to sell.

Trish:

She didn't really know how to create content, and she had no structure, no strategy, no repetition, no clear direction.

Trish:

She knew she had something valuable to offer.

Trish:

She just had no idea how to build around it, and we built it together.

Trish:

Her BFE, her offer, her content strategy, her selling framework, all of it, piece by piece, with feedback and accountability and knowing her data, and her data-made decisions, and someone in her corner who actually understood her buyer and her business.

Trish:

And now Crystal is freaking popping off.

Trish:

She's doing amazing, and she recently told me she never could have done it without this room.

Trish:

And not just me, the other women in the room.

Trish:

Crystal is not an anomaly.

Trish:

Crystal is what happens when a woman who has expertise finally gets the strategy and the support that matches the business she's actually building, not the business someone else built.

Trish:

And that is what I created this room to do, and this is a room where women stay.

Trish:

I have a lot of clients who've been with me all three years.

Trish:

They keep renewing.

Trish:

So I wanna talk directly to you, though, the woman who has been here with me and has been taking notes and nodding along, the woman who's sitting here listening to this episode, understanding exactly what I say when no other coach gets your business, but you haven't taken action yet.

Trish:

You haven't sent me a DM and said, "Trish, how do I work with you?" So I want to say it out loud because I think you need to hear it named.

Trish:

You think you need to make money before you can invest in help.

Trish:

You think you need to get to a certain level before you can hire a coach.

Trish:

Or maybe you've been burned, and you're like, "Not again."

Trish:

You think you need to prove it is working first before you put real resources behind it.

Trish:

And I wanna say this with absolute love and complete directness, 'cause that's how I roll.

Trish:

That thinking is why you're staying stuck.

Trish:

There is not a single successful business owner on this planet who built something real without investing before they were making money.

Trish:

Not one.

Trish:

If you were opening a brick-and-mortar business, like a storefront, a studio, a practice, you would not think twice about the fact that you have to spend money before you make money.

Trish:

You would budget for it.

Trish:

You would plan for it.

Trish:

You would accept it as a cost of building something real.

Trish:

And your online business is no different.

Trish:

However, it can create a return that is unlike that storefront, that studio, their practice.

Trish:

So the women who are winning right now are not winning because they waited until they felt ready.

Trish:

They're winning because they invested in the right room before they felt ready, and the investment created the momentum that creates the results.

Trish:

You do not need to make money first.

Trish:

You need the right support first.

Trish:

This is hard.

Trish:

I want you to hear me.

Trish:

This is hard, and if you don't build the right foundation when you start scaling and growing, it's gonna fall apart.

Trish:

When we build the right foundation, when we create the right structure and strategy, the money follows, and I never guarantee how quickly that happens because really you are the magic.

Trish:

You're the thing.

Trish:

So here's my invitation, and I mean invitation, not pressure, not a pitch.

Trish:

A genuine like I'm opening up my hands and inviting you into the room to be in the room with someone who's built what you're trying to build and wants to help you.

Trish:

So- This is a pitch for someone who is ready to stop figuring this out alone, and this might not be for you.

Trish:

But if you are ready to be in a room with women who are building the same kind of business you're building, led by a coach who's actually done it, I want you to apply.

Trish:

Not to buy, just to apply so that you can get information.

Trish:

You do have to apply so I can decide if you are a fit.

Trish:

If you are, then we'll hop on a Zoom, and we'll talk about where you're at and what you're building.

Trish:

And if it feels like a right fit for you, then there's no pressure, no hard sell, no gotcha.

Trish:

You get to decide.

Trish:

I'll share with you the ways in which you can, work with me.

Trish:

We'll have a conversation, and the conversation itself is going to give you clarity about where you are, where you want to go, and what's standing between those two things.

Trish:

So go to trishweircoaching.com/apply right now while you're still in this moment before the podcast app closes and the momentum fades and the to-do list pulls you back in.

Trish:

Four minutes is all the application takes, and four minutes that could be your crystal moment for your business.

Trish:

So here's what I want to leave with you as we close out the series.

Trish:

Nine episodes ago, you started listening because something's not working.

Trish:

You're here because your content's not converting, your sales are not coming in consistently, and your strategy feels like spaghetti on the wall.

Trish:

So now you know why.

Trish:

You know your buyer's different.

Trish:

You know how to build trust with her specifically.

Trish:

You have to claim your expertise.

Trish:

You have to make a decision and decide with your whole self that you're in.

Trish:

You have to simplify.

Trish:

You have to create content that sells, not just gets vanity metrics, and you have to stay in the game.

Trish:

You can't be a quitter.

Trish:

You have to be a never giver-upper, and then you have to build a micro experience.

Trish:

You have the map now.

Trish:

The only question is whether you're going to use it alone or whether you're going to have someone be in the corner with you who has already done it.

Trish:

I hope you choose the room.

Trish:

I will see you inside.

Trish:

That is the end of that nine-episode series.

Trish:

Next week, we're going to start on whatever.

Trish:

We'll see.

Trish:

I'm so proud of all of you, and I'm proud of you that you're taking your business seriously and that you are investing in it.

Trish:

Make sure you hit subscribe so you never miss what's coming next.

Trish:

Leave a review.

Trish:

Two minutes.

Trish:

It means everything in the world to me.

Trish:

Come find me on Instagram at iamt Trish Weir and tell me which episode hit you the hardest.

Trish:

And if you're ready to take the next step, go to trishweircoaching.com/apply and apply today.

Trish:

All right, friend, that is your cosmic slap on the booty.

Trish:

You have everything you need.

Trish:

Now go build the business you decided you're going to build.

Trish:

Go sell your offer.

Trish:

When you sell your offer, it sells.

Trish:

I'll see you again next Friday.

Trish:

Bye for now.
