Why I Stopped Selling My Services and Started Selling Myself (Made $50K in a Day)

If your content feels flat, your sales feel slow, and you’re second-guessing everything you post, this episode is your reset.

In Episode 3, Trish dives deep into one of the most overlooked parts of scaling your business: your identity.

Because when you forget who you are, your content loses its power.

And when your content loses connection, your audience stops converting.

This episode will help you reconnect to your story, your voice, and your purpose, so you can start creating content that actually lands and sells.

Trish shares practical, step-by-step ways to use your personal story, emotions, and everyday life to build authority and trust with your audience, especially if you’re selling to moms or parents.

💡 What You’ll Learn Inside This Episode

  • Why your audience isn’t connecting, and how to fix it fast
  • The difference between content that performs and content that connects
  • How to use your personal story to build trust and drive sales
  • The 3-post “Identity Reset” method that transforms engagement overnight
  • How to sell through emotion and authenticity (without oversharing)
  • The mindset shift that turns you from “content creator” into trusted leader

🔥 Mic-Drop Moments

“Your people don’t want perfect. They want real, because real is what builds trust.”

“People don’t buy the best offer. They buy the offer that feels like home.”

“When you remember who you are, your audience does too.”

🧠 Trish’s 3-Post Identity Reset Framework

If you’ve been struggling to reconnect with your voice online, start here:

  1. Post 1 — The Before: Tell your audience about who you were before your breakthrough or success.
  2. Post 2 — The Shift: Share the moment or lesson that changed how you see things.
  3. Post 3 — The Invitation: Tie it back to your current offer and show your audience how you help them create their own transformation.

This simple sequence reconnects your audience to you and moves them from connection → trust → conversion.

Trish:

Welcome to Sold Out Sales School, the podcast for women with heart led impact driven offers who are tired of being the Internet's best kept secret.

Trish:

I'm Trish Ware, mom of seven, former labor nurse turned seven, figure business owner and business mentor for B2C brands.

Trish:

If you're marketing to moms.

Trish:

Parents or real people who are not gonna make money off your offer.

Trish:

This show was made for you.

Trish:

You tried the big name coaches, but their strategies weren't built for your audience.

Trish:

Here we do sales differently.

Trish:

No bro marketing.

Trish:

No cold dms, no weird hooks.

Trish:

No fake urgency, just clear messaging aligned offers and strategy that actually converts.

Trish:

You are not here to hustle harder and miss all your family events.

Trish:

You're here to scale smarter with simplicity.

Trish:

So let's get you sold out.

Trish:

Hey there.

Trish:

Welcome back to Sold Out Sales School, the show where we talk about building a business that's aligned with your family, with you, but also profitable and designed around you, your life, not the algorithm.

Trish:

If you've been creating content, showing up every day, doing all the things, and you still feel like your message isn't landing, this episode will be your wake up call because today we're talking about the heart of your business, your identity.

Trish:

Who you are is the foundation of what you sell, how you connect, and what your audience believes about you.

Trish:

I say this all the time.

Trish:

The one thing that no one can copy, the one IP right, that no one can copy is you.

Trish:

You are the thing that sets your business apart, and if your content feels off, your engagement is low, your sales inconsistent, it may not be as much of a strategy problem now.

Trish:

Probably is strategy as well, but it also is connected to you, your identity and an identity disconnect.

Trish:

So we're gonna talk about that today.

Trish:

When you start building a business, it's easy to forget who you are.

Trish:

It's easy to forget your why.

Trish:

You start comparing your scrolling, which I hope you're not doing.

Trish:

I teach my clients not to do that.

Trish:

When you start comparing yourself to other creators, other entrepreneurs.

Trish:

You start adjusting, you make these micro adjustments all the way to macro adjustments, and then you start performing because it's not true to your identity.

Trish:

You post what you think people want instead of what's true to you.

Trish:

And I already said, you are what sets your business apart.

Trish:

So if you're just copying and comparing, you're not gonna stand out from the crowd.

Trish:

You're gonna start sounding like everyone else.

Trish:

And that's when you lose magnetism because your audience doesn't connect with perfect.

Trish:

They connect with real.

Trish:

And when you're doing someone else, you're not real.

Trish:

Your people are craving you.

Trish:

The behind the scenes, the mistakes, the learning, the lessons, that is what builds trust.

Trish:

And if your audience doesn't trust you, they won't buy from you, period.

Trish:

And I know if any of you guys have been to the sold out offer challenge, which our next one is in December.

Trish:

I'll teach you what does build the trust and the know, like trust is a lot more than you think.

Trish:

There's a lot more avenues to that.

Trish:

If your audience doesn't trust you, they won't buy from you.

Trish:

And trust starts with being rooted in your identity.

Trish:

People don't buy the best offer.

Trish:

They buy the offer that feels like home to them, whatever that means to them.

Trish:

when you show up confidently in who you are, your energy becomes the anchor.

Trish:

And you will make your audience feel seen.

Trish:

Your BFE will feel seen, she'll feel understood.

Trish:

She'll, she'll look over her shoulder.

Trish:

Like, how does, how does she know?

Trish:

I feel that way.

Trish:

That is sales psychology in its simplest form, your energy becomes evident of what's possible for your BFE.

Trish:

When you hide your energy behind filters and templates and trends and 30 best hooks that work to stop the scroll, you lose your authority.

Trish:

But when you lead with who you are from your authenticity, your audience sees you as real, not rehearsed, and that is what sells your offer.

Trish:

So we wanna get practical on what that looks like in your content.

Trish:

You tell shared struggle stories.

Trish:

There's a framework, my break framework that I teach my clients.

Trish:

Part of that is the shared struggle.

Trish:

The I see.

Trish:

You don't just teach, I relate to you, your followers by when they see themselves in the stories, in your story, in your client stories.

Trish:

In your student stories.

Trish:

I mean, for instance, I used to spend hours creating posts like at Zero Traction, but when I stopped listening to Instagram gurus, I didn't know what they were talking about.

Trish:

When you sell offers to moms and just shared my expertise in the right framework, my business exploded.

Trish:

You want to create trust and relatability, and I'm laughing because I can't say it right.

Trish:

I keep, I keep blundering my poor podcast team.

Trish:

All right, next, you wanna show BTS behind the scenes.

Trish:

If your audience is moms or parents, show 'em the chaos, show 'em the late nights, show 'em the moments in between.

Trish:

Show 'em real life so that they see, not only are you a professional and an expert, but you're also a human being.

Trish:

People buy from humans, not from highlights.

Trish:

This is why influencers are so freaking powerful.

Trish:

Right?

Trish:

Next, you wanna speak to the emotion, not to the features.

Trish:

Your audience don't want your course modules.

Trish:

They want to feel something, wanna feel calm, they wanna feel confident, they wanna see, feel capable.

Trish:

So when you write captions or create reels, ask, what does my buyer need to feel before she can say Yes?

Trish:

That's where your content will connect.

Trish:

You also wanna use your, I get it.

Trish:

Moments in your sales.

Trish:

Every piece of content should have a moment that says, I get it.

Trish:

I've been there.

Trish:

Here's how to change it.

Trish:

Like you don't wanna just like meet her in her struggle, but you also wanna show her the hope.

Trish:

So that's how you move from just being like in the friend zone to the selling zone.

Trish:

If you're ready to realign your brand with who you really are, here's a little mini baby homework assignment.

Trish:

Post one before moment, tell a story about you or a client.

Trish:

If you don't have students yet.

Trish:

I know you're like, well, how do I do that?

Trish:

Well, did you have a breakthrough Using your framework or using your offer, tell a story about who you were or who your client was before they had their breakthrough.

Trish:

The next thing I want you to do is post a shift.

Trish:

Share what changed or what you learned by doing this, your big aha moment.

Trish:

And then you want to connect it all with how you help others do the same.

Trish:

You're building an emotional connection.

Trish:

You're establishing your authority, and you're building trust fast.

Trish:

And this is part of the framework that I teach inside of the Content Mastery Mastermind, and it converts like crazy.

Trish:

You don't need to be louder.

Trish:

You just need to be you.

Trish:

We've been talking about pausing and being quiet and energy.

Trish:

The more grounded you are in your own identity, not Sister Sally's down the street who's blowing up on Instagram, that doesn't matter.

Trish:

The more you could stay grounded in your identity, the more magnetic your content will become.

Trish:

Confidence isn't found only in strategy, it's also found in what you're telling yourself in your identity.

Trish:

This is why I have a mindset coach alongside me inside of my mastermind because we need to remember who you are so that your audience will also remember you.

Trish:

Let that land go back to the beginning, to the why.

Trish:

Establish your identity.

Trish:

Now, I'm doing all these shorty episodes this month 'cause I know y'all, you're busy.

Trish:

I don't want you spending all your time listening to podcasts either.

Trish:

If this episode hit home for you, if you're ready to build content that connects, that sells and feels like you again, then it is time.

Trish:

This is your sign to join the Content Mastery Mastermind.

Trish:

You do have to apply.

Trish:

You can go to trish ware coaching.com/apply, but this is where we're gonna take this concept deeper.

Trish:
